Review: Nordstrom Credit Card

Nordstrom offers a credit card that not only could get you instant approval, but also the ability to use the card today. Nordstrom’s online application puts it this way: “If approved, you can sign in to access your card online and start shopping right away.” In addition, you can get a $20 bonus “Note” good toward a future Nordstrom purchase if you use your new card for at least $100 in Nordstrom purchases on the day you are approved. You should note that instant approval and same day use is more likely for customers with good credit histories.

When you apply for a Nordstrom credit card, you will first be considered for the Nordstrom Visa, which is accepted at Nordstrom and anywhere else Visa is accepted. If you are not approved for the Visa, you will then be considered for the Nordstrom Store Card, which is only accepted at Nordstrom.

In terms of rewards, you’ll get 2 points per dollar charged to the card on purchases at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Haute Look, and Trunk Club. If you been approved for the Visa, you’ll also get 1 point per dollar on purchases made with the card outside Nordstrom. Every 2000 points earned gets you a $20 Nordstrom Note toward a future purchase.

The interest rate on the Nordstrom card depends on your credit history. You could get a rate as low as 15.65% (and just 11.65% on Nordstrom purchases) with the Nordstrom Visa, but your rate could also be as high as 23.65% with either Nordstrom card.

Nordstrom credit cards are issued by TD Bank.
